Nicole Paulk, Jackie Burke, and Shannon Riddle planned a trip with Daniel Medina on The Beast. The objective was to put these ladies on some big fish. Our original plan was to leave at 7 am and fish a wreck for AJs and snapper. Boat issues pushed us back to a 1 pm start time and we launched from Pineland. After a 45 mile run, we pulled up on the wreck only to see someone else parked on it. Time for Plan B! There was no tide or wind; bite was super slow.
After a few hours, we made the call to run deeper and were rewarded handsomely. The tide switched and the bite fired up. The ladies were warned about the big fish here and all broke off on the first drift. After learning the lesson, the ladies began pulling big fish after fish with frequent doubles and triples on Gags, big Red Groupers, and nice sized American reds. The gags and American reds were released as they are out of season.
With sore arms and lack of sleep, we made the long cold run back to the dock just before sunrise. The ladies were awesome and the experiences were priceless. We'll be back on June 1st for more!
