Welcome to the SWFL Fishing Club page!
Hello fellow anglers! We are excited that you've taken the time to visit our page. We are a fishing club that was established in January 2017, catering to anglers in Southwest Florida. Our core membership base is derived from Cape Coral and the surrounding areas.
Our mission is to bring together anglers of all experience levels that hold a true passion for fishing. Ultimately we want the club to be composed of members who actively participate (or plan to) in the great sport of fishing, who have the desire to learn and share their knowledge, techniques and experiences. We want members who want to become better anglers, who strive to learn and continue to perfect the art of fishing and providing an opportunity to meet like minded, passionate anglers. Whether you have a boat, kayak or fish from shore, you are welcome to join us and become a member. You will be able to meet others who have boats that may be looking for like minded anglers to help with expenses, cleaning, rigging, and you guessed it...catch FISH!
We've got a lot of great ideas and goals we'd like to achieve for the club:
1. We are a fishing club. We want the club to revolve around fishing. While we all may have different ideas when it comes to fishing, we want the club to focus around it. We have seen far too many other fishing clubs that turn almost entirely into a social club. This is NOT what this club will be. We want members that actively fish and participate.
2. We meet once a month at a local restaurant. These gatherings will provide education and connections. During the meetings, we want to hear what and how you've been doing on the water. What's the hot species, area and bait. We will plan events such as tournaments and social outings. Our intention is also to help you learn more about catching the fish you want to catch. We hope to bring in local, knowledgeable charter captains and skilled angler who will talk about the various target species you are looking to catch. They'll give pointers on gear, areas, baits, lures, and conditions.
3. We will host 3+ club tournaments per year of various species and in various locations. The tournaments will be held at different seasons of the year. The locations of the tournaments will vary based on the target species as well as whether the tournament is inshore or offshore. We want these tournaments to be fun filled events that all anglers can enjoy.
4. While we want to put an emphasis on the fishing, we also understand that time with family is extremely important. Thru the year, we host a various beach raft ups on the water where we can all mingle, laugh and enjoy each other's company.
5. We'll have an end of the year Fishmas Party. We hold this at one of our local food and beverage venues. This is a great time to celebrate each others accomplishments and growth as fellow anglers. After the party we hold a silent auction of items members, vendors and sponsors have donated to raise funds for the following years Club Events & Tournaments.
